Quote

Being authentic is the ability to make self-honoring choices and stand firmly in who we are in our core. Being true to ourselves gives us the insight and compassion to see others for who they are, not who we expect them to be.  It frees us up from the judgment of ourselves and others and it gives others the freedom to be themselves as well.

-Victoria Reynolds

Prayer

God, thank you for communicating with your people. I know it is by your truth that I am set free, and I am so grateful that I have access to your truth through your Word.

You spoke creation into being. Your word is powerful. What you say is true and good and just. All Scripture has been inspired by you. You have given us your Word in written form so that we might know you and be guided by you.

Forgive me when I look for guidance outside of your Word. When I ask friends what to do before I open my Bible. When I am resistant to reading your Word because I want to guide myself rather than be guided by you.

Renew my desire and passion for reading the Bible. I want to get to know you better, and I know I can only do that by reading what you have said. May I learn something new about you and your character each time I read it. May our relationship deepen as I open your Word more and more. Amen.

Quote

Thoughts and images are the primary focus of satan's efforts to defeat God's purposes and a life of worship is the single most powerful force in completing and sustaining restoration of your soul.

-Dallas Willard

Prayer

Lord, you are the provider and giver of all. Nothing about me is hidden from you. You can count every hair on my head. You know all of my needs before I can even ask for them.

Sometimes it's tempting for me to believe I can rely on myself for what I need. Instead of trusting you to provide, I think I can look out for myself. I fear not having enough.  And when I do have enough, it never feels like it.

But you have promised to meet my needs out of your glorious riches. Remind me of your kind and generous provision. Thank you for taking care of me and meeting all of my needs.

Allow me to find full satisfaction in you, Father. I know you have provided for me and you have been faithful to me in the past. Continue to do so. Build up my trust in you. Your ultimate provisions came in the form of your Son, Jesus. May that truth feel real to me today. Amen.

Quote

More than anything else, I believe it's our decisions, not the conditions of our lives, that determine our destiny. It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.

Anthony Robbins

Prayer

Almighty God, you have promised to honor obedience. Help me walk steadfastly in your Word and in your promise. Remind me of your power. Give me the courage to take steps of faith, remembering that everything will end all right.

Thank you that even if my circumstances may cause me to fear, I have the final victory in Christ. I only have to do what is right and place my trust in you. You are my hope. You are my victory.

God, you will accomplish what you set out to accomplish. You are always working for the good of those who love you. I praise you for these promises.  Amen.
